Sustainable Toy Startup
Toy swap subscription startup that lets users borrow a toy rather than buying one
At Christmas its can be challenging to choose the perfect toy gift. Although it won't look quite the same under your Christmas tree, Wirli could be the answer.
Wirli is a toy swap subscription startup that lets users borrow a toy rather than buying one.
Nigel Phan founded Wirli to promote sustainable consumerism by diverting toys from landfill when children have got bored of them. Wirly keep costs down by buying toys directly from toy manufacturers which means users can borrow toys worth at least 3 times the price of their subscription.
Whirli has raised £4 million in a 2020 seed round led by Octopus Ventures with participation from MMC Ventures. They plan to use this to add more toys to their range and improve their business operations.
