Emergency drone startup
Startup supports emergency services using drones with onboard data capture
Avy’s founders set out to create a drone network to “save lives, cut costs and eliminate emissions”. Their fixed wing drones can cover long distances beyond the line of sight to feed back data from on board instruments to emergency services or deliver urgent medical supplies such as blood samples or medicines. The drones are also used by firefighters on the ground who send drones with heat cameras over wildfires and use heat data fed back from the drone to determine an effective containment approach.
Emissions are minimised by using solar panels and noise levels are kept to a minimum to avoid disturbing nature.
Avy has grown from 3 to 42 employees. This includes dog Loops, who has the important title of Emotional Support Manager.
