Electric Planes

At Cow-Shed we love the sustainability benefits offered by electric cars, so when we saw the first electric plane has been certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency, we were thrilled!⁠⁠Pipistrel has manufactured the Velis Electro - a 2 seater aircraft which can fly for up to an hour on its battery powered engine without emitting any gases or making any noise. ⁠⁠Pipistrel are based in Slovenia and plan to make 30 electric planes this year and have more than 120 on order. ⁠⁠Pipistrel is aiming the Velis Electro at pilot training schools but they are now offering their electric propulsion systems to commercial aircraft manufacturers - so maybe a commercial electric plane could be produced soon!
