Coffee Chat Startup

CoffeeChat is a startup which connects individuals and companies with coaches and experts who understand African markets and the realities of emerging markets.

The online platform allows users to connect with professional coaches 1:1 for support with leadership, career development, productive, business growth and personal wellness as well as offering the chance to be matched with a peer at a different company for two way 1:1 peer coaching. They also host daily group coaching sessions.

CoffeeChat was founded by Chris Suzdak after he received executive coaching early in his career and found it transformative in accelerating his leadership journey. He knew he wanted to extend executive coaching support to his team but found traditional 1 on 1 coaching too expensive as well as being difficult to source and coordinate relevant coaches for diverse and growing teams. He solved the problem by building CoffeeChat.

The CoffeeChat founding team is distributed remotely across Africa, but the core team is based in Mauritius, a country ranked top across Africa for stability and investor confidence with a straightforward work permit process and favourable tax and FX policies. As well as offering business advantages, the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Mauritius is up and coming and there are many wonderful beach and hiking spots across the island for any free time.
