Barcelona is a great city for startups. It’s known as southern Europe’s innovation hub and even has its own Chief Technology Officer! It is very popular with both investors and entrepreneurs - probably because of the city’s vivacious nightlife and Spain’s links with Latin America.

“One gets the chance to rapidly penetrate a very big market – Latin America – where people speak the same language,” says Clemens Rychlik, content manager at startup news platform Barcinno.

“Lower cost of living, lower cost of employment, lower property costs,” says Ben Nachoom, founder of coworking space OneCoWork. “The costs of failing in a city like Barcelona are lower than in other major European cities.”
